CA police decide the 4th Amendment doesnt exist, illegally search crowd
The police in Riverside, CA spent more than $500,000 in taxpayer money to fund overtime for 100 cops to illegally detain and search people at a car show.
TheNewspaper.com detailed the actions of the Gestapo police that night:
At around 11pm police surprised participants by blocking all exits with fifty police cruisers. Officers then began a warrantless search and interrogation operation of the 150 vehicles that were present.
“If you’re not into street racing, why would you need that?” Riverside Police Traffic Sergeant Skip Showalter asked an enthusiast during a similar crackdown last year. “Why would you want more power going to your car?”
“Despite labeling the parking lot raid as taking place at a “street racing venue,” Riverside Police offered no evidence that any street racing actually took place.”
It seems the Riverside PD as many questions to answer:
- On what grounds did they illegally detain and search these people and their vehicles without a warrant?
- Has the Riverside PD ever actually heard of the 4th Amendment?
- Why did they willfully lie when designating a parking lot as a street racing venue?
I think people should call and find out for themselves

How much longer will Americans tolerate this kind of abuse from police?

As for searching ones car, I do know cops need probable cause! However, I don’t quite see the cause for searching ones vehicle? Was there any incriminating evidence. If so, for what crime? I see nothing here, than more than officers once again thinking their above the law! I know they could claim reasonable suspicion, due to the fact its easier to prove than probable cause. And yet, I still see know cause. I do know this, the Supreme Court has ruled that the Fourth Amendment provides you protection within your home, however, less protection when you’re in your car. Claiming, that driving is a privaledge, not a right.
