Chicago’s criminally corrupt mayor, Richard M. Daley (of the Daley crime family) has once again proven his sheer ignorance when it comes to what he hates most: Guns.

In this Chicago Tribune article, Daley states that Chicago’s police officers will now be carrying M4 carbines . He also had this to say:

“When they come to a scene, someone has a semi fully-automatic weapon and you have a little pistol, uh, good luck.”

Now, what in the world is a “semi fully-automatic weapon”? A rifle is either semi-auto, or full auto. He also went on to say that criminals are armed with “assault rifles”, and that they are not in violation of federal law for having those “assault rifles”.

Now, it’s obvious the Mayor clearly doesn’t know the definition of the term “assault rifle”. Anti-gun people like to use that word because it sounds scary, but in reality (something Daley doesn’t know anything about), an assault rifle is a selective fire rifle or carbine.

A selective fire rifle means it can be used in either semi-auto, or full auto mode. Those guns, as with any firearm that fires on full auto, are subject to the National Firearms Act of 1934. In order to purchase a fully automatic firearm, one must fill out an ATF Form 4, submit fingerprints, pay a “fee” of $200 for an ATF Tax Stamp, and wait MONTHS until being approved by the ATF.

So, unless those criminals went to all of that trouble, they are in fact in violation of federal law.

Now, is that truly the case, or is Daley simply trying to scare the citizens of Chicago with an invisible boogeyman, aka guns?

Daley has a long history of hating guns, and doing everything his weasel-like little mind can come up with to get them all banned.

Evidently, the Mayor has never read the 2nd Amendment.

It’s interesting to note, that as Mayor, Richard M. Daley is protected by ARMED Chicago policemen.

So, what we have is someone who is protected by law enforcement 24/7, telling people they cannot own the same means of protection carried by his bodyguards.

Perhaps Daley should lead by example and order his protective detail to disarm at once. Lets see if he has the grapefruits.
