This article is a few years old, but I thought it would be a good way to highlight the stupidity of those tasked with “enforcing the law”.

The USA Today article:

“A 15-year-old girl has been arrested for taking nude photographs of her self and posting them on the Internet, police said.

The girl, whose identity was withheld, was accused of sending out photographs of herself in various states of undress and performing a variety of sexual acts. She sent them to people she met in chat rooms on the Internet, police said.

Police seized her computer and found dozens of photographs stored on the hard drive. Authorities did not say how police learned about the girl.

She has been charged with sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography.

So let me get this straight…..She’s being charged with sexually abusing herself, possessing naked pics of herself, and sending those naked pics (of herself) to other people.

Now, I think everyone can agree that a 15 year old girl definitely shouldn’t be posting naked pics of herself on the internet, but allow me to ask the obvious questions:

How can someone sexually abuse themselves?

Why is the government punishing the girl for a “crime” in which no one got hurt?

Where are the girls parents? Shouldn’t they be dishing out the punishment instead? Why is government yet again trying to take the place of parents?

I’d like to know how the police came to know about these pics. Hmmmmm, could one of them have been a recipient of the pictures?
