Why is our government giving 5 million dollars to build a museum in Poland?
Now maybe I’m just being petty considering 5 million bucks is nothing in the grand scheme of things, but for the life of me I can’t figure out why our government is sending OUR money overseas to build a Polish Jew museum in Warsaw, Poland.
The bill, H.R. 3320, was passed back in November, but not a peep was heard about it. Why?
From the bill:
Authorization for Assistance- To carry out the purposes of subsection (a), the Secretary of State is authorized to provide $5,000,000, which shall remain available until expended, to the Museum for the History of Polish Jews.
Now, where does the Constitution authorize this type of expenditure? I’ll give you a hint: It doesn’t.
Could this bill be placating a certain alleged ally of ours in the mideast, or is this something different say, making a number of government officials whose loyalties lie with Israel first and American 2nd happy?
As I said before, I know 5 million bucks is nothing in the big picture, but if Congress is so obsessed with blowing our money on Unconstitutional bills, why not take that 5 mil and use it to provide startup capital to 5 small businesses? You know, something that would actually benefit America and its citizens.
Sorry for this rant, I forgot, Congress doesnt have the nations best interests at heart.
Being Polish (I’ve lived in New York my whole life), I really think it’s a bad idea for the US giving money to their nations when we ourselves need to fix our country because it’s full of problems.
We need to know WHO came up with this scheme and WHO voted for it. Is this a ‘you scratch my back I’ll scratch yours’ thing. Anybody out there know?
